During our recent stay in Yellowstone National Park, we hiked up to Avalanche Peak. The trail head is located in the eastern part of the park and well marked. It is a 5-mile round-trip hike with 2,100 feet elevation gain and marvelous views. And, we got to see chipmunks, pikas, deer and wildflowers on the way!
